GIRLS DAY OUTING
Last week a couple of friends and I went to Berkely to check out a place I had visited before. It was not what it used to be but nevertheless we had a GREAT day. We went to all kinds of shops, had lunch and went to this place that my daughter had recommended. It is called BERKELEY BOWL....and for all you people who like to shop at Whole Foods, take a gander at this place! It beats Whole Foods by a mile......you would not believe they have two huge sections of produce, one organic and one regular, not to mention the rest of the store. Their deli makes you hungry just to smell it! They have everything....also a restaurant. We had a greeeaaattt time! Oh, and those funny looking red things with the green stuff coming out, in the box......we did not know what they were, they were $4.95/lb and she bought them just to put in a bowl, because they were beautiful!
Backyard Gate
Look how cute this is! My husband took apart an old wood shelf thingy that someone had made and it was falling apart. Then he found this vintage iron thingy and had it welded together to create a handle for the gate.

HOMEGROWN STRAWBERRIES!
Ahh! Sunday morning! So there I was strolling through my garden, in my nightshirt, watering everything after yesterdays heat. It is so wonderful to have fresh strawberries! I can almost pick a basket every other day. They looked so pretty, I just had to share.
HANDMADE VINTAGE FABRIC PILLOW
This must be a red and white day! I saw this fabric on the shelf and decided to make this French Farmhouse Pillow. I used a cotton linen vintage tablecloth. Sure to look great in almost any decor from shabby chic, to traditional, to contemporary. Of course, this pillow may be purchased from my Etsy shop!

CHICKEN QUILT
This is a chicken quilt I am creating for the upcoming Chicken Festival. In Old Fair Oaks every year they have a chicken festival to honor all the chickens that roam the streets! What fun.
GRAPES, GRAPES, GRAPES!
This is the first year, as I have said before, I am sure, that I got grapes! They are red seedless and have not turned from green yet. And, here they are, hanging on the ground! Mr. Simply Shabby has promised to build me a grape arbor for next year!
MY ROSE
I love my roses! I have several colors but this is my favorite. It is so very delicate with an overwhelming light pink color. So very soft looking. I will be spraying dormant spray this winter as I did not do it last winter and I got all of the ugly rust, black spot, you name it!

FEELING PATRIOTIC?
In this day and age with everything that is going on, stay true to the red, white, and blue. This great country and the symbol of our flag will persevere. Think of all the troops fighting for your freedom and honor them every day. Feeling patriotic, as usual, I created a few items that can be displayed to show your patriotism.
LOVE OF FAMILY
These are two of my granddaughters. They are sisters....so much alike......so different......Both a joy to be around!
GRADUATION CUTIE!
Here is the latest granddaughter to graduate from high school! Beautiful Ashlyn, beautiful inside and out. She has been a joy since the day she was born. She shows so much enthusiasm and positivity every day. She is very involved in her work and play and enjoys life and making others around her happy. Congratulations, Ashlyn!

VINTAGE CHAIR FOR THE GARDEN
My friend was going to dispose of this wonderful old 1940's vintage metal chair! I took it home, washed it, waxed it, and put a cute pillow on it. I think it looks stupendous in the garden!
QUILTS FOR SALE
Here are a few of my most recent quilts I have put on Etsy.....a great little (well, not exactly little anymore!) site that supports handmade goods. Things are rather slow in the quilt business right now as the temperature is rising! However, it won't be this temperature forever and before too long we will be longing for something nice and warm.

QUILTS FOR BOYS
It's not too often that I make boys quilts because I love the pastels a lot but I made this quilt for my Etsy site. I used some vintage looking fabric that I have had for ages. I think it came out pretty cute.
Birthday Gift
I made this darling apron for my sons girlfriend. She wanted ruffles, polka dots, and pink. So here it is.
PINK ANNIVERSARY GIFTS
Well, the big 41st anniversary is almost here and I have already received my gift from my thoughtful husband! I am using it right now.....A PINK laptop, with a PINK wireless mouse! I am still figuring out some things, like my pictures, etc. but I LOVE IT! Ok, so I am spoiled, what can I say?
