Now that the weather has started to become Fall, if there is such a thing in my area, I started a wool applique bag that I wanted to finish last year.  Very tedious hand stitching but very worth the effort!  I love working with wool....it is so natural!

I went to Joann's Fabrics looking for glue and came home with this primitive sign.  Lo and behold, I could use a coupon as it was not on sale.  I love it!    Here are a few other photos including some things on the wall.

I changed my sewing room around.  I moved my fabric from my shabby bookcase to the other side of the room on my cubbies.  Nice to change things up as you find things you had forgotten about.  Here is what I moved.

Pretty Little Space

I say if you enjoy something so much, take a photo of it!  And so, I did....it is just a little corner space in my home where some family collectible reside.  Also, there are some real and not so real hydrangeas.  I hope you enjoy looking at
it as much as I do.

A Few Of My Latest Creations!

Ok, now it is kind of over....if you call 90 degrees over!  We had a heat wave to beat all heat waves.  It was five days of over 105 degrees...yesterday was 110 degrees!  I am one who loves the fall and winter so much so it was hard for me.   I did manage to create a few items of which I will post pictures of.  Take note of the cute baby pillow for any new baby that will surely become a ROYAL baby in your house.

I said I would post a picture of the little dress when it was finished.  This is it...size 2...It turned out so cute....it has two covered buttons on the back and a removable flower on the front.  The flower has a pin back so it can be removed for washing.....It could also be used as a hair decoration.   Also, when I went out to water this morning my cone flowers were calling to be photographed, so here they are!

Here I am, better late than never....sorry....life keeps getting in the way.... but that is what a busy family life can do for you!  Anyway, now that I am here....I want to tell you....I am SO excited!.....I have decided to go back into a little shop in my town that I was in for three years.
This weekend they are having a Mad Hatter Tea Party and I will have some of my little girls dresses for sale!    I will post a picture of the last dress I am finishing up...it is going to be so cute....I am using several parts to patterns and this cool fabric that has rows of cotton lace, ruffles, stripes, and small pink prints.  The fabric was $20 a yard but I got it half off....even still, I will have to make the price worth my while!
Well, gotta go and finish it!  Here is a pic of the makings...I promise not to take so long to blog again!  In fact, I will put a picture on of the completed dress....

When we moved into our current house there was a large clothesline in the side yard.  I was so excited to be able to hang clothes on it!  I have always loved hanging clothes on a clothesline, don't ask me why.
Well, my husband decided it was too unsightly and removed it pretty quickly.  I, myself, thought that there should be no problem because it was located in an area where nobody usually goes anyway.
The other day I started thinking about clotheslines and how nice it would be to be able to hang my quilts I make and take pictures of them instead of asking someone to hold them for me.
I went and purchase a clothesline that attaches to our shed but the line only needs to come out when you need it....now, it doesn't hold a lot, but that is ok....I will use it for the aforementioned quilt photos and I will use it for our sheets and pillow cases.
Clothes smell soooooo good after being dried in the sun and wind....here is a picture of my line in action!  Today is a super windy day!

Boy, where does the time go?  I have been madly making Easter baskets for my Etsy customers but had to take time out for a little gardening.  It is so gorgous outside and we are expecting rain!  My flowers will love it....my grapes are already shooting out leaves and I have flowers on my strawberry plants.  Summer is not long off....stop sewing and smell the roses (well, almost).

Well, that time it worked...funny how sometimes I can't get the BROWSE to come up!  And, I was able to add a picture of my darling little bugs I made!  I just love them!  Is there something wrong with me?  I am so happy to be able to blog again so now I will go create so I can share with you!
Thanks for joining in....j

Here goes again.  .....the dresser?
Okay, that was not too bad...they have changed something and made it easier...I did get a duplicate of a picture but that was my fault.  Now I will share a shabby chic dresser I have put in a local shop.  Still not up to painting with my healing shoulder.  Oops, so I just tried to upload the photo...no go. darn it!

Let's try this today....I have had a terrible time loading pictures so I am giving it a go today.  I will try and put some photos of my spring garden on my blog to share.

Hmmmmm.  Last time I posted it was September?   How time flies!  Now it is so freezing I find myself not even wanting to get into my pajamas!  Oh, come on now....you've had those nights....when it is so cold you just can't bring yourself to take off your nice, warm clothes to put on those cold pajamas!  Well, that is the way it is in our house...one of those two story houses where, if you turn the heat on, it is still freezing downstairs and you cannot breathe upstairs....anyway.....

I had rotator cuff surgery on my right arm and have not had the best sleep recently, not to mention the fact that I was not supposed to do ANYTHING!  Really now, taking away my sewing machine is just like taking away my air I breathe!  I have managed to somehow (after I take off the sling I am supposed to keep on) make a few things but definitely machine quilting has been, and will be for some time, a definite NO NO.

Who in their right mind could just sit around and not DO anything!  Therefore, I will share a few pictures of some of my creations...nothing big, quilty, and perfect, but at least something!

Well, now Blogger has decided no one can upload pictures til they are damn good and ready!  Til we meet again....if they ever get their act together, I will put the pictures up.   bye

This summer I had the opportunity to house sit my friend's beautiful home in the foothills.  They have a VERY large garden and are growing many vegetables.  They were kind enough to pick cucumbers for me so that while I was there I could make pickles!  It was a real experience as I had not canned in quite a while.  While I was there the temperature was close to 100 degrees almost every day.  Her kind husband had set up everything I would need on a porch right outside this beautiful kitchen of theirs.  I had the large canning pot and a propane stove and everything....(yes, I had visions of me burning their gorgeous home to the ground...how could I face them when they returned?!).  But, alas, everything went according to plan and you will see the fruits of my labor at the end of this post.

I also went down the road and picked blackberries one morning and made several jars of homemade blackberry jam.  Yum!

As I look back on this experience I am truly waiting for next year!  Hmmmmm what can I produce when I go back?

BEAUTIFUL SUNFLOWERS FROM THEIR ABUNDANT GARDEN.  THEY ARE GROWING CUCUMBERS (I made the pickles out of some), TOMATOES, HEIRLOOM TOMATOES, SQUASH, TONS OF FRUIT TREES, PUMPKINS, AND MORE THAN I CAN REMEMBER.
HERE THEY ARE!

THE LONG HOT SUMMER

I have had it with summer.....I was always a fall/winter person and as I grow older I am even more a fall/winter person...I hate the heat! Next week I am going to Lake Tahoe to my twice a year quilt retreat. Unfortunately it will be 80 degrees. I always looked forward to the cool crisp weather at Zephyr Cove but unfortunately the summer people will win out....I love sweatshirts and jeans way more than shorts and tanks.

Anyway, looking forward to that time away with friends and new creations will get their start there. It is always so hard to pack because I am afraid I might leave something here in my sewing room that I might need. I remember wishing I had that certain pink fabric that was sitting at home on my shelves....but did not know I would need it....therefore, I take waaayyy more fabric than I can possibly use for the week away.

I also love my garden but I am tired of the daily watering....looking forward to falling leaves!

Above this writing you will see a few of my fall/halloween items because that is the way this works....you type and then remember that you should have put the pictures on first...oh, well...

MY STUDIO

Here are some pictures of my favorite place on earth.....my studio.

This is where I do my best creating and sewing of my one of a kind items. I decided to take some pictures to inspire me to clean up my space.

Today I want to start some dolls for some upcoming shows....even though we have two grandchildren arriving today for a few days....I want to take my fifteen year old granddaughter on a hunt with me to some thrift shops as I am looking for some vintage fabric for my creations....I will let you know how that goes. (the grandson can go with grandpa to see the fish climb the ladder at the fish hatchery).

This is a little jacket I made using a sweatshirt and appliqueing fish fabric on it.

Well, I found a place where I could click on OLD BLOGGER STYLE....so I did..now to load pics.
I am still having trouble understanding this new Blogger! I have wanted to write again on my blog but they have made it very difficult for a person like me (that hates computers) to navigate on my blog! I have been creating things and have wanted to share new pictures with everyone, including the re-decorating my husband has done on our front porch. It all started with a very large bird cage he found at RC Willeys (love that place). I just today finished a bird quilt and I wanted to share my shabby chic ruffled quilt and my last strip quilt with Heather Bailey fabric....so....here goes, I will try to load pictures and publish this. Also, be looking for more pictures of my garden. We have had a terrible heat wave with 100's for a week and it has finally cooled to 89-90.

My Handmade Crowns on Etsy

So I had fun playing with paper, glitter, trims, etc. and made a couple of crowns...here they are, I hope.
